‘Ghostwritten’ Trailer: Jay Duplass Is A Writer Getting More Than He Bargained For While On Retreat On February 9

Jay Duplass stars in Matthews’ sophomore feature as a writer who accepts a residency on a secluded island to start on a new work. But another work finds him first, which has ghostly ramifications.

Here’s an official synopsis of “Ghostwritten,” courtesy of Cranked Up Productions:

Clinging to the reputation of his one hit novel, writer Guy Laury (Jay Duplass) accepts a winter residency on a reclusive island whose residents seem friendly at first. The discovery of a lost manuscript and its possible ties to a longstanding local murder case, however, throw into question the intentions of everyone around him. 

“Ghostwritten” also stars Kate Lyn SheilMaria DizziaThomas Jay RyanMonica Eva Foster, and Declan Eells. Matthews writes and directs the film, as he did for his 2019 feature debut, “Lost Holiday.” Producers on the film include Lena Hudson and Daryl Pittman. Pittman also serves as cinematographer on “Ghostwritten.”
