"Electric, sprawling and ambitious," that's what we had say about Kathryn Bigelow's "Zero Dark Thirty," which has started screening for critics as it heads into awards-contending limited release in just a couple of weeks. Indeed, it's one of the hottest conversation pieces at the moment, and a few more pics take you on the ground.
As you're well aware, the film is the based-on-fact account of the hunt for Osama Bin Laden that goes far beyond the firefight that killed him in May 2011. The picture centers on Jessica Chastain's Maya, a determined operative who sticks to finding the terrorist leader even through the turmoil and politics post 9/11. The picture has been earning strong buzz thus far and seems poised to once again put Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal back in the awards season hunt following their team-up on "The Hurt Locker."
Co-starring Mark Strong, James Gandolfini, Joel Edgerton, Chris Pratt, Taylor Kinney, Scott Adkins, Frank Grillo, Mark Duplass and Edgar Ramirez, "Zero Dark Thirty" gets classifed on December 16th in New York and Los Angeles and January 11th across the country.
