Got a Tip?

Hans Zimmer’s ‘Days Of Thunder’ Score Finally Coming To CD; T. Bone Burnett Scoring ‘True Detective’

Hans Zimmer

For those of you who always wanted to feel the thrill of “Days of Thunder” without actually having to watch the movie, get ready to mark your calendars. Hans Zimmer’s score for “Days of Thunder” is finally making its way to CD! Shockingly, Zimmer’s score, which also features the guitar stylings of Jeff Beck, has never been officially released on the format until now. The CD will feature beautiful art direction as well as in depth liner notes, and bonus tracks all delivering over 70 minutes of music. Topping that, bonus features include producer Jerry Bruckheimer and actor Tom Cruise recounting behind the scenes stories regarding the film. Be sure to get out your CD player, which is most likely lying around in the attic somewhere, dust it off, and then pop in the badass soundtrack when it comes out on November 5th. Limited edition only! Only 3000 copies being pressed by La-La Land Records.

Meanwhile, if the recent trailer for HBO’s upcoming show “True Detective” got you really excited, then this should make you even more ecstatic. T Bone Burnett is officially set to provide the score for the series, which stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Burnett’s previous composer work includes “O Brother, Where Art Thou?,” “Walk the Line,” “Crazy Heart,” and most recently, he produced the soundtrack for the Coen Brothers’ upcoming movie “Inside Llewyn Davis.” And with  Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA awards under his belt, his reputation precedes him.

“True Detective” will air on Sunday nights for HBO, starting January 12th. [Soundtrack/Film Music Reporter]
