Way back in August of last year, it was revealed that Jennifer Lopez was attached to star in a new film from director Lorene Scafaria, based on an article about exotic dancers that band together to hustle money out of their Wall Street clients. The film was said to be on the hunt for more major names to fill out the cast. However, that was all derailed when Annapurna dropped the film in October. Now, we are in 2019 and not only has the film found a home, but it has a major cast to go along with it.
Deadline is reporting that Cardi B, Julia Stiles, Constance Wu, Lili Reinhart, Keke Palmer, and Oscar-winning actress Mercedes Ruehl have all joined the cast of the upcoming film “Hustlers.” In addition to this great ensemble, it’s being reported that actresses Trace Lysette and Mette Towley are currently in negotiations to join the stacked cast.
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with this dynamic group of women,” said Scafaria. “We’re grateful to have assembled such a powerhouse cast and can’t wait to start filming at the end of the week.”

While that cast has a wealth of experienced actresses from major films and TV, all eyes are going to be on Cardi B. The rapper is currently one of the biggest names in music, but has yet to debut as an actress. And interestingly enough, she can probably lend a bit of realism to the film, as she was an exotic dancer before turning to music.
There’s no official release date set for “Hustlers,” but the report states that filming is set to begin on March 22, which leads us to believe that the film could be coming in early-2020.
