‘It’s Not Me’ Teaser: Leos Carax Returns With An Experimental Self-Portrait

Over his 40-year filmmaking career, Leos Carax has only released six feature films. Breaking it down further, Carax has only released two films over the past 24 years. So, a new feature from the filmmaker is something to celebrate, especially if you’re a fan of auteur-driven, somewhat experimental storytelling, such as in his new film, “C’est Pas Moi” (aka “It’s Not Me”).

“It’s Not Me” is a unique film in a filmography that is perhaps more unique than any other modern filmmaker. Leos Carax loves to experiment, and judging by the new teaser for his latest, the filmmaker continues that trend. “It’s Not Me” is a self-portrait in film, where the director examines his previous films in a new way. If that sounds confusing and odd, then you’re not wrong. That’s just how Carax likes it.

The film stars Denis Lavant, Kateryna Yuspina, Nastya Golubeva Carax, Juliette Binoche, Loreta Juodkaite, Anna-Isabel Siefken, Petr Anevskii, and Bianca Maddaluno. “It’s Not Me” is written and directed by Carax, naturally. The film debuted at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

“It’s Not Me” is set to arrive in French cinemas on June 12. You can watch the two teasers below.
