Jason Reitman's 'Up In The Air' To Debut At Telluride? Mark Blucas Joins 'Wichita,' Rashida Jones Teams With Chris Messina For 'Mongamy'

– Jason Reitman’s “Up In The Air” is reportedly set to screen at this year’s Telluride Film Festival before its Toronto premiere. Other films rumored for the festival are John Hillcoat’s “The Road,” Werner Herzog’s “My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done?” and Lone Scherfig’s “An Education.”

– Marc Blucas has joined the cast of James Mangold’s untitled “Wichita” project starring Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz and Maggie Grace. Blucas will play the fireman ex- of Diaz’s character, an upbeat Midwestern woman who goes on a blind date a man (Cruise) who turns out to be a federal agent.

– Sony Pictures Classis has acquired the rights to Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s fantasy epic, “Micmacs.” Starring Dany Boon, Dominique Pinon, Andre Dussollier and Yolande Moreau, the film centers on a videostore clerk with a bullet lodged in his brain who plans to take down a weapons manufacturer.

– Rashida Jones and Chris Messina will star in Dana Adam Shapiro’s “Monogamy,” a cautionary tale about sex, photography and fear of marriage which Shapiro co-wrote with Evan Wiener. The film has evidently just wrapped shooting and is aiming to hit the festival circuit in early 2010.

– Pre-production on Julie Taymor’s “Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark” musical will resume today after it was previously reportedly that the whole shebang was set to be canned. A February start date looks good once again.
