Folks, look—times are tough. We all are affected by the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic in one way or another. Some of us are quarantined. Some are working from home—if we’re able to work at all. And sadly, there are many that have passed away due to the illness. But don’t worry, Jeremy Renner is here to help. Not with his acting, however. Renner is here to gift the world beautiful music in this trying time.

According to Jeremy Renner’s recent social media post, the Marvel Cinematic Universe actor has surprised us all with the gift of song, as he has now released a new EP titled, “The Medicine.” I won’t begin to pretend I’m a fan of Renner’s music. I’ve seen one of his music videos and that was plenty enough for me to realize that it’s… not for me. But I can’t help but be taken aback by the timing of the release, the title of the EP, and the message he posted announcing the music.
Basically, does Jeremy Renner sincerely think he’s saving the world?
The actor-turned-rockstar wrote on Instagram, “I’ve always found music to be one of the few things that unite people in a pure way. Common ground can be hard to find in today’s world, but music has remained a constant for me. To feel deeply, to dance fervently, and live together is more present now than ever.”
Regardless of his intentions, Renner isn’t new to music. As mentioned, over the last year or so, he’s released multiple songs and videos, and if you’re into the sort of pop-rock of, say, Nickelback or vintage Hoobastank, you may find something there that you enjoy.
When he’s not shooting arrows and rocking the faux-hawk in the ‘Avengers’ films, Renner has been known to diversify his output. Whether that’s a curated outdoors store on Amazon or even an app that, uh, doesn’t have the best track record, the actor is always attempting to find new ways to interact with fans and expand his brand.
So, here you go, world— “The Medicine” is now available for consumption.
