‘Don’t Make Me Go’: John Cho To Star In New Road Trip Dramedy From Director Hannah Marks

While Hannah Marks might be best known for her acting roles, appearing in projects such as “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency,” “Daniel Isn’t Real,” and “I Used to Go Here,” the actress has become a strong up-and-coming filmmaking talent, writing the hilarious comedy, “Banana Split” and directing the recent drama, “After Everything.” And it appears she’s continuing her filmmaking evolution with an exciting new dramedy, “Don’t Make Me Go.”

According to Deadline, Hannah Marks is set to direct the upcoming father-daughter road trip film, “Don’t Make Me Go.” Adding to the excitement is the fact that Marks has already found her two leads, John Cho and Mia Isaac. Cho and Isaac are set to star as a father-daughter duo who goes on a road trip to find the estranged mother. Over the course of the journey, the single father attempts to impart life lessons on his teen daughter, which we all know will likely end with her calling him “cringe.” “Don’t Make Me Go” is written by Vera Herbert.

Isaac is a fairly new talent in Hollywood, probably best known for starring in the pilot episode of the series, “Lovestruck.” This is obviously her biggest role to date, putting her opposite an incredibly talented actor like Cho. He’s probably best known for the “Harold & Kumar” comedy franchise, but he’s also appeared in films such as “Star Trek,” “Searching,” and the recent remake of “The Grudge.” Cho is also set to star in the upcoming Netflix action series, “Cowboy Bebop.”

A release date has yet to be announced for “Don’t Make Me Go.” However, a likely 2022 release can be expected considering production on the dramedy is expected to begin next month in New Zealand.
