…in Australia?
A prominent side note/minor controversy to the release of McG’s “Terminator Salvation” has been whether or not Jonathan Nolan (Christopher Nolan’s brother who co-wrote “The Dark Knight”) would receive writing credits for his much publicized contribution to the script.
While recent word from /Film — with screencap proof — showed Nolan wouldn’t be getting due credit, a standee poster at Village Cinemas Jam Factory in Melbourne, Australia has added another twist to the tale. Featured in the ‘Screenplay By’ credit is none other than Nolan along side John Brancato, Michael Ferris (both of “Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines” fame) and (out of shot) Anthony E. Zuiker.
So what does this mean for Nolan’s contribution? To be honest, we’re not sure. We have no idea what the writing credit rules and regulations are for U.S. films released in Australia. For all we know, this could just be the ‘Salvation’ marketing team in Australia lawfully crediting writers ineligible in the U.S. Maybe someone from the WGA can explain? Either way, it seems Nolan will be getting his due after all, albeit down under.
“Terminator Salvation” is due in theaters May 21st.
