Filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou—better known as RackaRacka—follow up their breakout success with A24’s “Talk To Me” with a new horror feature, “Bring Her Back.” Their debut film, released in 2022, introduced rising star Sophie Wilde and earned widespread acclaim, including high praise from “The Lord Of The Rings” director Peter Jackson. It was a significant box office hit, grossing $92.2 million worldwide on a $4.5 million budget, and surpassing “Hereditary” to become A24’s highest-grossing horror film domestically. In the wake of that success, A24 quickly brought the Philippou brothers on board for their next project.
Featuring two-time Academy Award nominee Sally Hawkins (“The Shape of Water”), “Bring Her Back” stars Billy Barratt, Sora Wong, Jonah Wren Phillips, Sally-Anne Upton, Stephen Phillips, and Mischa Heywood.
While details about “Bring Her Back” remain limited, a newly released trailer and synopsis offer a glimpse into the story: a brother and sister uncover a disturbing ritual at the remote home of their new foster mother.
“Bring Her Back,” written by Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman, is produced by Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton. A24 will release the film in theaters nationwide on May 30. The new trailer is available below.
