Honestly, in a world filled with a million different streaming options, pound-for-pound, dollar-for-dollar, is there a better offering than Shudder, specifically if you’re a fan of genre filmmaking? Sure, you can weed through the heaps of uninteresting stuff on Netflix for $15 per month (or whatever the price is now, as it keeps increasing) or you can enjoy Shudder, which has some great horror, thriller, and auteur classics, as well as pretty awesome Originals, all for $6 per month. And with that you also get the exclusive chance to watch “Leap of Faith” next month.
As much as I can rave about Shudder for anyone willing to listen, I want to make sure you understand that the streaming service isn’t just a place filled with slasher films and whatnot. You can also find documentaries such as “Leap of Faith.” As seen in the trailer for the new doc from Alexandre O. Philippe (“78/52” and “Memory: The Origins of Alien”), William Friedkin takes you behind the scenes to talk about how he crafted one of the very best horror films (or just films in general) of all time, “The Exorcist.”
You’ve heard all the stories and the rumors about the filming of “The Exorcist.” But in “Leap of Faith,” you hear it all from the man himself, Friedkin, who talks about writing notes in the margins of his copy of the novel to the reason why he left the ending ambiguous. If you’re a fan of the film, or just films in general, this truly is a must-see.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be working with the exceptional team at Shudder to bring ‘Leap of Faith’ to an audience of such savvy, passionate fans of genre cinema. Without a doubt — this is a perfect home and partnership for our film,” said Philippe.
“‘Leap of Faith’ continues our commitment to bringing the best programming about horror, thriller and the supernatural to our members,” said Craig Engler, Shudder General Manager. “Alexandre has created an unparalleled look at one of the greatest horror films of all time, giving viewers direct access to William Friedkin in this can’t-miss documentary,”
“Leap of Faith” will arrive exclusively on Shudder on November 19. You can watch the trailer below.
