'Love Life' Trailer: Anna Kendrick Stars In New Dramedy Series From Paul Feig

Everyone knows that if you want to launch a successful streaming service, a deep library of well-known content helps, but the real way to gain interest is with killer original programming. And for HBO Max to be successful, it needs to be more than the place where you can find all your HBO content, as well as “Friends.” That’s where “Love Life” comes in.

As seen in the new trailer for “Love Life,” Anna Kendrick stars in the series about a woman trying to find love, while also going through her tumultuous history of dating. No, it doesn’t sound like the most original series ever to arrive. In fact, it does sort of feel like the recent Hulu series, “High Fidelity,” without the music and replacing Zoe Kravitz with the girl that leads all the “Pitch Perfect” films. Your mileage may vary if that’s a good thing or not.

“Love Life” is created by Sam Boyd. The showrunner writes and directs multiple episodes of this new HBO Max series but is probably best known for the 2018 feature film, “In a Relationship.” Paul Feig, the director of films such as “Bridesmaids,” “Spy,” and “Ghostbusters: Answer the Call,” is aboard as an executive producer. And joining Kendrick in the cast of the series are Zoe Chao, Sasha Compère, Scoot McNairy, and Peter Vack.

“Love Life” is set to debut on May 27, the day that HBO Max launches to the public.

Here’s the synopsis:

Love Life, the first full-length scripted series to star Oscar® nominee Anna Kendrick, is about the journey from first love to last love, and how the people we’re with along the way make us into who we are when we finally end up with someone forever. This fresh take on a romantic comedy anthology series is from creator and co-showrunner Sam Boyd (In a Relationship) and is produced by Lionsgate Television and Feigco Entertainment.
