HBO Max Debuts New Trailers & Announces May Launch Date

HBO Max is coming, and now, we know exactly when the highly-anticipated streaming service will launch. According to a slew of new trailers for the service, it appears that the next big streamer is launching on May 27, a little over a month from now.

To announce the release date, HBO Max decided to showcase some of the new content that will be joining the WarnerMedia library. That new content that will be available at launch includes reality shows such as “Craftopia” and “Legendary,” along with the documentary, “On the Record.” In addition, the streaming service will also feature the new series, “Love Life,” starring Anna Kendrick.

“Our No. 1 goal is having extraordinary content for everyone in the family, and the HBO Max programming mix we are so excited to unveil on May 27th will bear that out,” Bob Greenblatt, chairman of WarnerMedia, said (via Variety). “Even in the midst of this unprecedented pandemic, the all-star teams behind every aspect of HBO Max will deliver a platform and a robust slate of content that is varied, of the highest quality, and second to none.”

When the service becomes available on May 27, it will cost $14.99 and come loaded with approximately 10,000 hours of content. If you’re a subscriber to certain cable services, HBO Max will be included in your subscription fees already.

Some of the other content that will be available, and is highlighted in the new trailer, including films such as “Joker,” “The Matrix,” “A Star is Born,” “Shazam,” “Wonder Woman,” “Aquaman,” and “The Wizard of Oz.” In addition to the much-hyped streaming relaunch of “Friends,” HBO Max also includes series such as “The Big Bang Theory” and “South Park,” as well as content from channels such as CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth, and Looney Tunes.
