Marc Maron Will Voice Lex Luthor in 'DC League of Super-Pets'

Over the past few years, the animated slate of DC Films has become something of a breeding ground for both established and emerging voice actors. So it’s no surprise that Marc Maron, one of the most distinctive voices in entertainment, will soon be lending his talents to the world of superheroes.

In the most recent episode of WTF With Marc Maron – Maron’s long-running podcast – the actor let slip that he has done a little work for “DC League of Super-Pets,” an upcoming animated feature that follows the pets of famous superheroes as they band together to form their own superhero organization. “I’m doing two animated movies! They’re both coming out next year,” Maron shared. “I play Lex Luthor in ‘Super Pets.’ There’s, like, big stars in that one.”

The man is not wrong. The announced voice cast of ‘Super-Pets’ includes actors like Kevin Hart, Kate McKinnon, John Krasinski, Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna, and Keanu Reeves, with smaller cameos for the human versions of superheroes no doubt also in the mix.

Still, will he still be annoyed “travel 20 to 30 minutes to a smaller theater to see a grown-up movie” when his film is the one booked on a half-dozen screens? It’ll make for a good podcast episode either way.
