A forest full of flirtation is about to get very crowded in Netflix’s latest adult animated swing. From the team behind “Big Mouth,” Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for “Mating Season,” a new adult animated romantic comedy that shifts the chaos of dating, sex, and relationships into the animal kingdom. Set to premiere May 22, the 10-episode series comes from creators Mark Levin, Jennifer Flackett, Andrew Goldberg, and Nick Kroll, with Titmouse producing.

The premise is straightforward and cheerfully unruly: in the search for love, everyone’s an animal. “Mating Season” is set in a world of bears, raccoons, deer, foxes, and other randy forest creatures, all chasing connection, companionship, and the basic biological urge to keep the species going. It’s a broad setup, but one that sounds built to let the show’s creators push their familiar mix of horny comedy, relationship anxiety, and ensemble chaos into an even more absurd natural habitat.
Kroll also leads the voice cast, which includes Zach Woods, June Diane Raphael, and Sabrina Jalees. Behind the scenes, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina also executive produce for Titmouse.
With 10 half-hour episodes on deck, “Mating Season” looks poised to bring the same aggressively unserious energy that made “Big Mouth” a long-running hit, only this time with claws, fur, antlers, and a lot more woodland libido.
“Mating Season” premieres on Netflix on May 22. Watch the trailer below.
