Cinema’s ambassador Tom Cruise spent the weekend helping to promote Ryan Coogler‘s “Sinners” on social media and today Paramount Pictures has unleashed yet another trailer for Chrisopther McQuarrie‘s “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” (highlighting it is being screened in the IMAX format) as Ethan Hunt and his loyal Impossible Mission Force team are looking to put the evil artificial intelligence, known as the Entity, out of commission after the events of “Dead Reckoning.”
The next installment is heading to the big screen on May 23 and is set to debut at the Cannes Film Festival with an expectation that McQuarrie, Cruise, and the cast will be on hand to promote the action epic.

Other actors set for the eighth and potentially final outing for Cruise includes Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Mariela Garriga, Henry Czerny, Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham, Angela Bassett, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Charles Parnell, and Frederick Schmidt.
A logline for the highly anticipated flick:
IMF Agent Ethan Hunt goes on a mission with his team to try and stop a man named Gabriel before he can obtain an AI program that can weaken the world’s stability.
In “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” we’ll see the team traverse the icy landscape of Svalbard, Norway, and Cruise pushes himself to hold his breath in a sequence that sees Hunt making his way through a submerged Russian submarine in the frozen waters of the Arctic, where the deadly and tricky Entity resides.
What the future holds for the franchise remains to be seen, as we could see a passing of the torch from Hunt to another IMF Agent.
