Sometimes there’s a film that arrives with such a clever and simple premise that it just boggles your mind that no one has done it before. That’s exactly the feeling you get when you watch the trailer for “Night of the Hunted.”
As seen in the trailer, “Night of the Hunted” follows the story of a young woman who walks into a convenience store just to buy snacks. She then notices something’s not right when she notices some blood spatter behind the counter. That’s when a shot is heard and she figures out that a sniper (somewhere) is shooting at people inside the store. She finds herself alone in the store, having to hide with no one to help her and trying to figure out the identity of the maniac who is killing anyone who walks in.
The film stars Camilla Rowe. It’s directed by Franck Khalfoun, who is probably best known for his underrated thrillers, “P2” and “Maniac.” Seriously, check them out because they are pretty great. The film is produced by Alexandre Aja, who is the filmmaker behind “High Tension” and “Crawl,” lending his seal of approval.
“Night of the Hunted” debuts on Shudder on October 20. You can watch the trailer below.
