“Ain’t nothing more powerful than love.” Can music save a bleak future? A farm girl sets out on an incredible journey in “O’Dessa.” The film — described as an epic rock opera and musical fantasy — follows her into an uncertain world with only one constant, true love. She’ll push music to its limit and find out what really matters along the way. The project hails from writer and director Geremy Jasper, who previously did double duty on “Patti Cakes$.” The drama about a woman seeking fame while dealing with the difficulties of her life played at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Jasper has also been nominated for a Film Independent Spirit Award and a DGA Award.

“O’Dessa” features an outstanding cast of performers. Sadie Sink stars as the title character. She drew raves for her role as Ellie in “The Whale” and quickly became a favorite on Netflix’s “Stranger Things.” Kelvin Harrison Jr. comes to the project after voicing Taka in the blockbuster film “Mufasa: The Lion King.” 2024 was a busy year for the actor, also portraying Martin Luther King Jr. on “Genius.” Acclaimed actors Murray Bartlett and Regina Hall round out the cast.

Set in a post-apocalyptic future, O’Dessa is an original rock opera about a farm girl on an epic quest to recover a cherished family heirloom. Her journey leads her to a strange and dangerous city where she meets her one true love – but in order to save his soul, she must put the power of destiny and song to the ultimate test.
