Set long before Claire and Jamie’s iconic romance, ‘Blood of My Blood’ explores two parallel love stories set generations apart: one amidst the brutality of World War I and the other against the raw, untamed backdrop of 18th-century Scotland. The series traces the early lives of the couples who shaped ‘Outlander’s central characters — Claire Randall’s parents, Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp, and Jamie Fraser’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser.

Leading the cast are Hermione Corfield as Julia Moriston and Jeremy Irvine as Henry Beauchamp — a wartime romance defined by resilience and tragedy — while Harriet Slater and Jamie Roy portray Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, whose defiant love unfolds on the eve of a Jacobite uprising. The ensemble also includes Tony Curran as the formidable Simon Fraser, Lord Lovat, Séamus McLean Ross as Colum MacKenzie, Sam Retford as Dougal MacKenzie, Rory Alexander as Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser, and Conor MacNeill as Ned Gowan.

While designed to welcome new viewers unfamiliar with the original series, ‘Blood of My Blood’ offers longtime fans a deeper understanding of legacy characters, weaving emotional backstories and historical nuance into the already expansive ‘Outlander’ mythology. The trailer teases sweeping landscapes, forbidden love, and the early seeds of rebellion — all franchise hallmarks — but from fresh, often surprising viewpoints.
