'Outlander' Season 4 Trailer: There's Revolution, Slavery, Time-Travel & Plenty Of Romance To Go Around

When season one of Starz’s romantic epic “Outlander” debuted it was one of the most buzzed about shows on the air. Lushly shot with gorgeous scenic cinematography, plus a historical setting with twinges of fantastical elements (like time travel!) and the scorching chemistry between romantic leads Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan as Claire and Jamie, respectively, made it enthralling television. The wait between season one and season two, unfortunately, dampened some of that buzz. However, we’re now approaching Season 4, so the Starz series is still doing something right!

And wow, the upcoming season of “Outlander” looks to be ramping things up a notch. There’s the impending American Revolution, the introduction of slavery, and silver fillings? Yes, time-travel shenanigans are afoot, but it appears that there’s plenty of drama in the various ages that will keep fans on the edge of their seats. And if all that sci-fi/historical intrigue isn’t enough to satisfy, then you have the smoldering relationship between the two leads that seems to be going strong, based on the numerous kissing scenes in the newly-released footage.

Also starring Tobias Menzies and Graham McTavish, “Outlander” will return to Starz on November 4.

Here are the synopsis and first trailer for the upcoming season:

The fourth season of “Outlander” will include 13 episodes based upon Drums of Autumn, the fourth of the eight books in Diana Gabaldon’s international best-selling Outlander series. The upcoming season continues the romantic adventures of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Heughan) in America and will premiere this November 2018 on Starz. Additionally, the series has been renewed for two more seasons, taking it through season six. The “Outlander” television series, executive produced by Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Toni Graphia, Matthew B. Roberts and Andy Harries, is inspired by Diana Gabaldon’s eight-book Outlander series that has sold an estimated 30 million copies worldwide with all the books having graced the New York Times best-sellers list
