‘Paradise Lost’: DC Studios Taps Writers From ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ & ‘Bridgerton’ For Series Linked To ‘Wonder Woman’

Over the weekend, it was confirmed that the gestating “Paradise Lost” series at DC Studios, connected to the lore of “Wonder Woman,” focusing on the Amazons’ warrior culture of Themyscira, has found a pair of writers. Those two names are Kira Snyder (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) and Janet Lin (“Bridgerton”). This would be another show alongside “Peacemaker” and the upcoming “Lanterns” at HBO Max, in the hopes of expanding this new vision for the DCU, as “Man of Tomorrow” is looking more and more like it could help tee up a new iteration of The Justice League.

That confirmation comes from the official Writers Guild of America West website, backing up a previous report hailing from the outlet Nexus Point News (their involvement had been revealed in the summer of 2024), and should give fans more hope that the superhero show will actually get in front of cameras after some other projects announced by studio heads James Gunn and Peter Safran have either been delayed or scrapped entirely. Although their job titles (showrunners or simply in the writers’ room) on the project aren’t entirely clear.

Gal Gadot previously played the Wonder Woman role, and we had learned from Gunn himself that a new solo feature film was in the works, as a script was going to be penned by “Supergirl” and “Teen Titans” screenwriter Ana Nogueira, which would clearly signal they’ve been happy with her work on their new release coming this month.

While not official, there is a really good chance DC Studios could take a page from “Lanterns” (featuring Aaron Pierre‘s John Stewart before appearing in “Man of Tomorrow”) and might be how Gunn aims to introduce the audience to their new Diana Prince on the small screen before giving her that aforementioned theatrical romp. Gunn debunked rumblings back in January that Wonder Woman would be showing up in the “Superman” sequel, now filming, which may help nix rumblings that actress Adria Arjona (“Andor”) is playing her in the event flick.
