The six-part series, which is executive produced by DeVine and star, producer, and director of previous installments of the franchise, Elizabeth Banks, “Bumper In Berlin” will pick up Bumper’s timeline some years after his antagonistic tenure as leader of The Treblemakers, as he hopes to invigorate his musical career across the Atlantic. Here’s the official synopsis for the series:
In the new series for Peacock, several years after we last saw him in Pitch Perfect, Adam Devine’s Bumper Allen moves to Germany to revive his music career when one of his songs becomes big in Berlin.
Having matured in the years since the last entry into the franchise, the characters of Bumper and Piëter Krӓmer, portrayed by a returning Flula Borg, will be seen as adults for the first time, offering a dynamic thus far unfamiliar to fans of the universe. Borg and DeVine will be joined in the cast by newcomers to the franchise Jameela Jamil, who plays Giesla, a German pop star and ex-girlfriend to Borg’s Piëter, and Lera Abova as Piëter’s sister, DJ Das Boot. Sarah Hyland of “Modern Family” fame will also star.
“Bumper In Berlin” will unfold over six episodes on Peacock, starting later this year on November 23. Watch the teaser below:
