Priyanka Chopra Jonas & Richard Madden To Headline New Russo Brothers Series 'Citadel' At Amazon

We have to admit, the post-Marvel Studios career for the Russo Brothers, and their production company, AGBO, hasn’t been the most electric, thus far. Their first AGBO-produced series, “Deadly Class,” was unceremoniously canceled by Syfy after only one season. And the first feature film to be produced by the brothers, coming off their record-breaking “Avengers: Endgame,” was the mediocre “21 Bridges,” which quickly disappeared after an uneventful box office showing. Nevertheless, the AGBO/Russo Brothers train keeps going and their next project, “Citadel,” has found its two leads.

According to Deadline, the Russos and Amazon are teaming up for what is being dubbed a “multi-series” titled “Citadel,” and the show will star none other than Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden. What exactly is a “multi-series?” Well, we’re not completely sure, but the report describes “Citadel” as a spy series that will feature a US version starring the aforementioned actors but will also launch with multiple local-language versions of the series in countries such as Italy, India, and Mexico.

With a deal that doesn’t just encompass one star-studded series, but actually multiple series around the world, it’s clear that Amazon and the Russo Brothers have high hopes that “Citadel” can be a global phenomenon.

Chopra Jonas is probably best known for her various Bollywood projects, as well as her ABC series “Quantico.” Most recently, she starred in the film “The Sky is Pink,” which had its premiere at last year’s TIFF.

Madden, on the other hand, is most famous for his lead role in the first few seasons of “Game of Thrones.” Since then, he’s also been the star of “Bodyguard,” an acclaimed British series. And later this year, he’ll be one of the stars of Marvel Studios’ “Eternals,” which is sure to make Madden a household name (as these Marvel films do for all of their stars).

No word on when we might see “Citadel” make its debut, but we’ll definitely keep an eye out to see how this “multi-series” progresses.
