We are barely more than a month away from the release of Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet,” and even though we’ve had multiple trailers, numerous pictures, and plenty of interviews, we still don’t know much about the mysterious action epic. Well, we do know it has one hell of a cast. And in the new first-look pictures, you can see just about everyone from the cast, except for one notable exception—Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
And in an interview with EW, Nolan explained that Taylor-Johnson can be briefly seen in one of the trailers, but you probably didn’t recognize him.
“Aaron Taylor-Johnson is indeed in the film,” said the filmmaker. “He’s an important part of the film. Yes, there are no photographs of him, this is true. He is briefly glimpsed in the [second] trailer. He’s also completely unrecognizable. There are all kinds of things that happen in terms of where the story goes as the film develops and where it winds up in the later stages that we don’t want to spoil for people.”

As mentioned, there are so many layers of mystery surrounding “Tenet.” This has led to many fans wondering if Nolan is hiding a “Split”-style reveal where we find out if the new film is a pseudo-sequel to “Inception.” And while that may be a typical tin-foil hat message board theory for most projects, the “Tenet” secrecy does seem a bit overboard. So, adding this whole Aaron Taylor-Johnson business to the whole situation just makes it even more opaque.
Joining Taylor-Johnson in the cast of Nolan’s action film are John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Michael Caine, and Kenneth Branagh.
