Joining The Discourse, Michael Cera discusses seeing early drafts of the script and being instantly taken by the project.

“I’ve actually been friends with Dustin [Guy Defa] for years,” Cera said. “I’ve been keeping up with Dustin since working with him seven years ago, and I saw the script coming together, and I’m just a big fan of Dustin’s writing and him as a filmmaker. So, that was it for me – I came to it that way. And Ioved the way the script was developing and evolving over time.”

Lillis was also featured in “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” earlier this year. Much has been debated on whether or not the film was successful enough to warrant a sequel. During the interview, Lillis was asked if she’s heard any rumblings, and sadly, it doesn’t sound like there’s much hope yet.

“Nope!” Lillis said, laughing. “I heard absolutely nothing. We did our little press tour thing and were like, ‘Well, see you when I see you.’ Yeah, It would be fun to go back to that for sure. There’s so much you can really do with that game.”

Cera was also confirmed to be returning to his fan-favorite character of, Scott Pilgrim, for a new Netflix animated series, which has not been confirmed as a sequel or remake as of yet. Cera was also hesitant to clarify what fans can expect.

“I think I’m not supposed to say,” Cera said. “But I can tell you it’s really good. Really, really funny. I’ve had so much fun recording it and getting to watch a little bit of it coming together. It’s so good. And it’s all written by Bryan Lee O’Malley, who created the graphic novels, so it’s really in that language, and it’s very funny.”

“The Adults” hits theaters on Friday, August 18th. Listen to the full interview with Michael Cera and Sophia Lillis below:
