Interested? Then pencil in a new show that premieres on October 22 into your calendar: “The Monster Of Florence.” Based on real events, the four-episode series dramatizes the case of “Il Mostro di Firenze,” Italy’s first serial killer, who eluded justice while terrorizing the nation for decades.
Here’s an official synopsis of “The Monster Of Florence,” courtesy of Netflix:
Eight double murders. Seventeen years of terror. Always the same weapon. A .22 caliber Beretta. One of the longest and most complex Italian investigations into the first and most brutal serial killer in the country’s history: The Monster of Florence. This story is based on ongoing legal proceedings and investigations. In a story where there have been many possible monsters, over time and investigations, our story focuses on them, the possible monsters, from their point of view. Because the monster, in the end, could be anyone.
“The Monster Of Florence” stars Marco Bullitta, Valentino Mannias, Francesca Olia, Liliana Bottone, Giacomo Fadda, Antonio Tintis, and Giordano Mannu.
“Sicario: Day Of The Soldado” director Stefano Sollima directs all four episodes of “The Monster Of Florence.” He also creates the series with Leonardo Fasoli. Producers on the show include Sollima, Lorenzo Mieli, and Gina Gardini. “The Monster Of Florence” is a presentation by The Apartment, a Fremantle Company, and AlterEgo. Sollima’s series had its world premiere out of competition at the Venice Film Festival.
