Is William Ronald Trosper about to unravel a broad conspiracy? HBO’s “The Chair Company” offers a comedic take on one of today’s most prevalent obsessions. The upcoming series sees Trosper endure a humiliating event. Its repercussions lead the worker into an increasingly complex investigation. ‘Company’ hails from co-creators Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin. The pairing should be familiar to comedy fans, with their previous efforts “Detroiters” and “I Think You Should Leave” becoming hits.
“The Chair Company” finds two talented filmmakers helming episodes. Andrew DeYoung and Aaron Schimberg both direct during this season. DeYoung wrote and directed “Friendship,” featuring Robinson in a leading role opposite Paul Rudd. Shimberg wrote and directed 2024’s “A Different Man.” The critically acclaimed dark comedy premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
Robinson stars as the worker-turned-sleuth, William Ronald Trosper. He’s joined by Lake Bell, Sophia Lillis, Will Price, and Joseph Tudisco. Lou Diamond Phillips recurs as Jeff Levjman. Bell recently voiced characters on the Disney+ series “Phineas and Ferb” as well as HBO Max series “Harley Quinn” and “Kite Man: Hell Yeah!”
