"Cloud Atlas" is coming, and buzz is building and if that translates into box office success, it will find the The Wachowski Starship back on top again after flopping with "Speed Racer." They've already got "Jupiter Ascending" brewing with Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, with a February start on the horizon, and now it looks like the siblings are set to tackle TV, and as usual, they are operating in secret.
Variety reports that they've teamed with "Babylon 5" creator J. Michael Straczynski for something called "Sense8." And that's it. A quick Google search doesn't reveal much, but it does continue the pair's penchant for numbers in their titles of late, following the brewing trippy Iraq war, gay romance tale "Cobalt Neutral 9" (hey, is that still a possibility?). So all we can do for now is just be patient or wildly speculate until more details are revealed. However, the show is now being shopped and the plan is for Straczynski to act as showrunner on the potential show, with The Wachowskis to probably direct a few episodes if/when it goes to series.
This would mark the first TV venture for the pair, but the time has never been better for original stories on the small screen. Hopefully some more info emerges soon, but until then, you can see if the Wachowskis (and Tom Tykwer) pulled off "Cloud Atlas" when it opens on October 26th.
