MTV have been busy chatting lately with a lot of celebs, and it seems they've managed to squeak out start dates for a trio of high-profile films including a sequel, a potential sci-fi franchise and a fairy tale reimagining. So let's get to it.
First up, Rosario Dawson reveals that the long awaited "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" will indeed roll by the end of the year. "I'm not sure if I'm supposed to say that, but I'm going to say November, I'm going to be honest and put it out there," she said, adding: "It's sort of a prequel to the 'Sin City' we've already watched, so you'll understand the references we were making in that one. The new face thing, all of that interesting stuff." While it's indeed Dwight (Clive Owen) whose face gets rearranged, Dawson teases that she might not be immediately identifiable either. ""You might have to figure out which one's me at some point," she said. "We're going to play with that."
Next up, following the mixed reception to "Cloud Atlas" at TIFF (we didn't care for it), we wonder how much the eventual box office of that film will factor into whether or not Warner Bros. decides to actually put their own money into The Wachowskis "Jupiter Ascending" (it should be noted, they are only distributors of the upcoming, multi-narrative movie). But whatever happens, Tatum is projecting a February start for the movie in which he'll co-star with Mila Kunis, playing a bounty hunter tasked with taking out someone who appears to be nothing more than toilet scrubber, but who threatens the power of the Queen….IN SPACE. But for now, he's shooting "White House Down" in Montreal and not returning our calls to go grab some poutine and a couple of beers.
Lastly, while Emma Watson has "Perks Of Being A Wallflower" rolling out this weekend, her eyes are already on next year when she'll be working on the Guillermo Del Toro-produced retelling of "Beauty & The Beast." "We [del Toro and I] met a week or two ago, and we started working on the script, and it's going to go next summer," Watson said. "It's so funny, obviously I've been doing a lot of other work, and I was nervous. I was like, 'Is this going to go away?' And Guillermo is so psyched about it, and he's like been thinking about it so much."
So there you go, folks. All this stuff is happening in one form or another with more news to come.
