For your viewing pleasure, here are three new clips from Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” that have just been released online on the eve of the film’s world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
In the first clip, titled ‘The Vet,’ we find ourselves amidst a conversation between Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt), the leader of the ‘Basterds,’ and Bridget von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger), a popular German actress doubling as an Allies spy, about a change of plans.
The second clip, titled ‘Interrogation,’ shows Pitt’s Raine interrogating a Nazi soldier in front of his gang of ‘Basterds’ demanding information about the Nazi’s army’s positions and artillery. After the soldier respectfully declines, preferring the honour of dying for his country, Raine calls on the services of baseball-bat-toting Sgt. Donny Donowitz, played by Eli Roth.
The third, and unfortunately final, clip is titled ‘Hans Landa’ and features Col. Hans Landa, played by Christoph Waltz and nicknamed ‘The Jew Hunter,’ discussing his opinions regarding similarities between Jews and rats to Frederick Zoller, played by Daniel Brühl.
“Inglourious Basterds” will be out in cinemas August 21st.
