TIFF Adds 'Hereafter,' 'I'm Still Here,' 'Let Me In,' 'Everything Must Go,' 'What's Wrong With Virginia?' & More To Lineup

TIFF has announced a number of high-profile films to their already healthy lineup that is set to unspool in just a few weeks.

Nine films have been added to the Special Presentation slate and they include some impressive titles. The announced titles include the previously confirmed Danny Boyle-directed true story survival tale “127 Hours”; Clint Eastwood’s supernatural “Hereafter” (just announced as the New York Film Festival’s closer); Dustin Lance Black’s directorial debut “What’s Wrong With Virginia?”; the Casey Affleck-directed documentary/performance piece “I’m Still Here” with Joaquin Phoenix; the highly anticipated American remake of “Let The Right One In” by director Matt Reeves, “Let Me In”; the previously hinted Will Ferrell dramedy “Everything Must Go” and Benoit Jacquot’s “Deep in the Woods.”

The Midnight Madness slate has also firmed up its lineup. As we revealed this morning, James Gunn’s superhero flick “Super” will get a midnight screening along with John Carpenter’s mental institution horror film “The Ward,” Dante Lam’s “Fire Of Conscience,” the previously tipped, “Insidious” by “Saw” creator James Wan and Brad Anderson’s apocalyptic thriller “The Vanishing On 7th Street.”

Finally, closing out the festival will be Missy Tadjedin’s relationship drama “Last Night” starring Keira Knightley, Sam Worthington, Eva Mendes and Guillaume Canet.

The Toronto International Film Festival runs from September 9-19 and we will be there providing coverage. [IndieWire]
