One of the standout horror films from the 2017 film festival circuit, “Tigers Are Not Afraid” is finally making its way to theaters next month, courtesy of Shudder (who is turning into a force in the genre film world). And in the trailer, you get a quick glimpse as to why the three gentlemen above are in love with the Mexican thriller.
“Tigers Are Not Afraid” is described as an urban fairy tale that follows a young girl and her fellow orphaned children that are armed with three magical wishes. They are attempting to survive in Mexico, which is in the middle of absolutely devastating drug wars. The group of children has to somehow escape that real violence while also running away from ghosts that haunt them.
The horror/thriller film stars Paola Lara, Juan Ramón López, and Hanssel Casillas. ‘Tigers’ is written and directed by Issa López.
“Tigers Are Not Afraid” arrives in theaters on August 23.
