Got a Tip?

Travis Scott & Harmony Korine’s Mystery Film Reportedly To Screen One Time Only This Weekend

It’s been a little while since it was announced that rapper Travis Scott had struck a deal with film studio A24 for an unnamed project. That happened back in 2021, and since then, we haven’t heard much about what could be the fruits of this union. Well, according to new reports and a bit of online deduction, it appears Scott and filmmaker Harmony Korine have joined forces on a film that might only ever be seen in public once.

According to a report from The Film Stage, Harmony Korine and Travis Scott might be on the verge of screening a new, mystery film at Metrograph this Sunday. No, this can’t be confirmed, but it would line up with the report that claims that Korine and Scott had worked together on a secret film “shot entirely in infrared” and that the film would never get a full release due to unknown reasons. The secret film was reportedly test-screened at Metrograph recently, which lends credence to the idea that it will also be the subject of the upcoming Sunday screening.

Ok, all of that is all well and good, but what the hell is this film, anyway? Well, unfortunately, we really don’t have much of a clue. Back in 2022, Travis Scott shared some pictures in an Instagram story that showed him working with Korine on a project. And one of the images, while not in “infrared,” was shown in night vision, which could be what the report actually means. Another of the images also showed Scott and various other people in masks and holding guns, which again lines up with the idea of a film by Harmony Korine, who is no stranger to making shocking films.

Korine is probably best known for films such as “Kids,” “Gummo,” and “Spring Breakers.” His most recent film is “The Beach Bum.” But if you want to know just how, uh, avant-garde Korine can be, definitely do check out his film, “Trash Humpers.”

There’s no confirmation that any of this is true, but the evidence sure does paint a clear picture. The only problem is that it looks like this mystery film won’t be getting any sort of real distribution. So, if you’re in the area and want to check it out, you probably should head down to Metrograph this Sunday to see what the hell is going on.
