‘Tuesday’ Trailer: Julia Louis-Dreyfus Stars In A24's Acclaimed Telluride Drama Arrives This Summer

A24 has a lot of enticing films on their release calendar this year, fronted by the delayed “Problemista!” on March 1, “Love Lies Bleeding” a week later, and Alex Garland‘s”Civil War” in April. But don’t sleep on “Tuesday,” another A24 release that received lots of buzz out of the Telluride Film Festival last September.  Daina O. Pusić‘s film arrives in theaters this summer, and it could mark the arrival of a major talent with a sophisticated cinematic imagination.

Here’s an official synopsis for “Tuesday,” courtesy of A24: 

A mother and her teenage daughter must confront Death when it arrives in the form of an astonishing talking bird. From debut filmmaker Daina O. Pusić, Tuesday is a heart-rending fairy tale about the echoes of loss and finding resilience in the unexpected.

“Tuesday” stars Julia Louis-DreyfusLola PetticrewLeah Harvey, and Arinzé Kene. Other cast members include Ellie JamesTaru DevaniJay SimpsonDavid Sibley, and Nathan Amzi.

Pusić writes and directs her feature debut, which also had a screening at the BFI London Film Festival last October. The Playlist’s review of “Tuesday” out of Telluride said, “This is the sort of movie that puts a director of Pusić’s caliber on the imaginary cinephile map,” so expect a fantasy with unexpected nuance in this one.
