The upcoming film follows the infamous story now made legendary by last year’s Michael JordanChicago Bulls documentary, “The Last Dance.” While the Bulls vied for their second thee-peat championship run, Rodman took a 48-hour trip to Las Vegas to unwind in the middle of the 1998 finals. The rest is history, with a cast as diverse as Bulls coach Phil Jackson, supermodel Carmen Electra, Bulls Assistant GM Jerry Krause, and more.

Lionsgate won the auction for  Jordan VanDina‘s screenplay in August.  Phil Ford, Chris Miller, and Aditya Sood will produce the film. No director is on board the project yet.

Majors appears next in “Devotion,” a biopic about African-American U.S. Navy fighter pilot Jesse Brown. The film won raves at its world premiere at TIFF earlier this month (read The Playlist’s review here). He stars as Kang the Conquerer in “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania” next February and appears in “Creed III” on March 3, 2023. Other upcoming films include “Magazine Dreams” and “The Man In My Basement,” which heads into production soon.

So, Jonathan Majors as Dennis “The Worm” Rodman? Is this a dream idea? Box-office poison? The most unexpected casting idea of all time? Whatever it ends up being, if Majors jumps on board, “48 Hours In Vegas” just became a one of the most intriguing films of the next couple of years.
