There are very few anthology film franchises. Most of the time, an anthology film is a one-off. But in the case of “V/H/S,” the franchise is as popular as it ever was going into its seventh feature, “V/H/S/BEYOND.”

As seen in the trailer, “V/H/S/BEYOND” brings together another group of up-and-coming filmmakers to tell their own frightening story. However, unlike previous editions which had specific time-periods that filmmakers were supposed to stick to, the “Beyond” aspect of it allows for some more artistic license.
Judging by the footage seen, it looks like it’s a mixture of the lo-fi video format, as well as the HD footage. But one thing that remains true is that it’s all found-footage, keeping with the tradition that has been going strong for more than a decade.
The individual segments are directed by Jordan Downey, Christian Long & Justin Long, Justin Martinez, Virat Pal, Kate Siegel, and Jay Cheel.
“V/H/S/BEYOND” is set to debut on October 4 on Shudder. You can watch the teaser below.
Here’s the synopsis:
V/H/S/BEYOND, the seventh installment of the V/H/S franchise will feature six new bloodcurdling tapes, placing horror at the forefront of a sci-fi-inspired hellscape.
