Warner Bros. are spending this afternoon getting some ducks in a row for their slate of upcoming blockbusters, so let’s dive right in.
We’re just a few months away before “Godzilla” once again stomps the Earth, and a monstrous new poster is here via Yahoo to let you know just how big the creature is. Yep, there’s the lizard strolling through San Francisco, with the Transamerica Pyramid barely reaching his shoulder. Gareth Edward‘s film is dropping on May 16th, and if you need a reason to see this, the cast alone should get you through the door: Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, Juliette Binoche and Sally Hawkins. Update: An international trailer has arrived too.
And while the star power behind “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” might not be as huge as the monster flick, Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, Hugh Grant, Alicia Vikander, Elizabeth Debicki and Luca Calvani are no slouches and neither is director Guy Ritchie. So why is WB releasing this big screen reboot of the ’60s TV spy series on January 16, 2015? Probably because their calendar is insane at the moment, with this summer and fall already full booked with an array of blockbusters and big movies. So fine, run with January, but did you really have to put it on the same weekend as the Daniel Radcliffe starring “Frankenstein” and Universal‘s Michael Mann cyber thriller?
And even Will Smith is getting a rare winter release date, with the studio dropping his con man romance comedy flick “Focus” on February 27, 2015 (opposite “Everest” starring Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin and Jake Gyllenhaal). Decisions, decisions….
Update: A new international trailer for “Godzilla” is below, as well the reveal of his roar.
