Eager to put his "Downton Abbey" past behind him, Dan Stevens has been busy signing up for a variety of roles, ranging from period dramas to Liam Neeson flicks. A new trailer for "The Guest" demonstrates aspects of the actor’s chops having nothing to do with his Matthew Crawley character.
Directed by Adam Wingard, the much anticipated Sundance thriller follows a soldier who arrives on the doorstep of the family of a fallen comrade, claiming to be his friend. Suffice it to say that dreadful events follow. The film received a helluva response out of Park City in January, with our own critic calling it a "perfect synthesis of Cameron, Carpenter and Cannon [Films]."
"The Guest" opens on September 17th. Check out the new U.K. trailer and poster below.
