A trailer is imminent, but Entertainment Tonight — apologies in advance — have released the first teaser trailer for “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back,” the highly-anticipated (?) sequel to “Jack Reacher.” Tom Cruise is back as the titular hero, with Cobie Smulders joining him, but beyond that, there’s not a lot of noteworthy stars in the film, but when you’ve got Tom Cruise, maybe that’s not important. The only other major change from the first film is Christopher McQuarrie is no longer involved; the mantle has been passed on to Edward Zwick who directed Cruise in “The Last Samurai.”
Based on Lee Child’s bestseller, ‘Never Go Back’ follows Reacher as he returns to the headquarters of his old unit, only to find out he’s now accused of a 16-year-old homicide. Of course, this leads to trouble that can probably only be solved by punching. “He’s alone and he’s sort of in his element and then he couples up with me and all hell breaks loose,” Smulders explained to E.T. “We’re on the run for this entire movie.”
“Jack Reacher: Never Go Back” lands in theaters on October 21st. Keep your eyes peeled for the full trailer, but until then, watch below. [Hey U Guys]
