This must be what it was like the first time someone decided to combine peanut butter and chocolate. Sure, it might not make the most obvious sense that indie weirdos Deerhoof and Michael Shannon go together, but now, we can’t imagine them apart. The band has just dropped their latest album La Isla Bonita, and of course, the "Boardwalk Empire" star features in the video for "Exit Only." Because there would just be no other way.
The concept for the video, directed by Vice Cooler, is pretty simple: Michael Shannon interrogates Michael Shannon with some destructive, mind-control like fury. And then Deerhoof guitarist Ed Rodriguez comes crashing through the wall, shoots off some serious sparks with some mad riffage, and then blood and flames and….hell, just watch the thing below.
