“Silent Friend”
Jumping between eras to tell loosely connected stories centered on a single gingko tree, “Silent Friend” offers a new perspective. Written and directed by Ildikó Enyedi (“The Story of My Wife”), the film explores three different eras and three different personalities, all set in a botanical garden in Marburg, Germany. The film reunites Enyedi with star Léa Seydoux, alongside the cast of Tony Leung Chiu-wai, Luna Wedler, Sylvester Groth, and Martin Wuttke.
Release Date: In theaters May 8 via 1-2 Special.
“Obsession”
Michael Johnston stars in the supernatural horror film “Obsession” as a man who discovers the cost of his heart’s desires after breaking the “One Wish Willow” in order to win his crush’s affections. Written, directed, and edited by filmmaker Curry Barker (“Milk & Serial”), the film stars Inde Navarrette as the childhood crush, along with Cooper Tomilnson, Megan Lawless, and Andy Richter.

“In The Grey”
Director Guy Ritchie reunites with Henry Cavill for the action thriller “In the Grey.” Jake Gyllenhaal, Cavill, Eiza González, Kristofer Hivju, Fisher Stevens, and Rosamund Pike star in the film, which follows an elite team of agents who must steal back a billion-dollar fortune from a ruthless tyrant.
Release Date: In theaters May 15 via Black Bear.
“Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War”
John Krasinski reprises his role as C.I.A. field operative Jack Ryan for the sixth film in the franchise, “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War.” Directed by Andrew Bernstein and written by Aaron Rabin and Krasinski, the film finds Jack Ryan forced back into the world of espionage after a deadly conspiracy is revealed, forcing him to confront a rogue black-ops unit. Wendell Pierce, Michael Kelly, and Sienna Miller also star.

“The Mandalorian and Grogu”
A continuation of the popular series, “The Mandalorian,” “The Mandalorian & Grogu” finds the pair, bounty hunter Din Djarin and his apprentice, Grogu, on a new journey. The film finds the two enlisted to help protect the New Republic from obstacles that threaten to undo all the work that the Rebellion fought for, now that the evil Empire has fallen. Pedro Pascal reprises his role in the film, which is directed by Jon Favreau and co-written by Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Noah Kloor. Jeremy Allen White and Sigourney Weaver both join the cast as new characters.
