Hey people, did you know that Netflix’s “Stranger Things” is a popular show? Shocking, right? While we all were aware that “Stranger Things” is one of the most viewed shows on the streaming service, Netflix is here to tell us just how popular the series was this weekend, during its first few days of release.
According to the streaming service, just over 40 million accounts streamed part of the series over its first four days of release, with just over 18 million accounts actually finishing the entire season of “Stranger Things.” That’s pretty incredible, even though these are numbers that aren’t fact-checked and are selectively released by Netflix without much explanation of the details.
Here are the exact statistics, per Netflix:
“40.7 million household accounts have been watching the show since its July 4 global launch — more than any other film or series in its first four days. And 18.2 million have already finished the entire season.”
We’ve said it a million times already on this site, but it’s true that Netflix never releases the bad numbers, or actually any numbers other than the hand-picked incredible record-breaking stats. So, we should definitely preface these numbers with that disclaimer. That being said, these are impressive numbers for “Stranger Things.”
Even with a relatively small number of episodes (8 total), Season 3 of “Stranger Things” isn’t something that you would think 18 million would binge in four days. Most networks can barely get an audience to watch one hour of a TV series a week, let alone 8 hours in a matter of four days.
Yeah, the kids in Hawkins, Indiana are popular.
