Got a Tip?

‘Rise Of Skywalker’ Doc Clip Takes Our Mind Off Coronavirus & Back To Debating ‘Star Wars’ Like The Good Ol’ Days

Remember back in December and January, when all we were annoyed about was whether or not “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” was any good? Now, we’re 3 months into 2020 and the Presidential election is pitting us against each other and a global pandemic is infecting the world. I never thought I’d say this, but can we please get back to debating “Star Wars?”

Thankfully, the recent digital release of ‘Rise of Skywalker’ has given us access to special features, including a clip from “The Skywalker Legacy,” a feature-length documentary about the making of the film. And while the clip doesn’t have anything that is sure to split the fanbase down the middle (the Pasaana Chase is actually one of the better action sequences in the film), it does offer us an entry point into discussing the pros and cons of JJ Abrams’ Skywalker Saga finale.

So, go ahead and debate it once again. Did Abrams ruin “Star Wars?” Or is Rian Johnson the man who took your love of the galaxy far, far away and wiped his butt with it? How great would the Colin Trevorrow ‘Episode IX’ have been, huh? I mean, those leaked concept art images are pretty incredible, right? Thoughts on clone Palpatine? Anyone?

Let’s get through this self-isolation and social distancing the best way we know how—by debating completely irrelevant things with strangers online. Just one caveat. Let’s leave the insults at the door, okay? We can argue about ‘Rise’ until we’re blue in the face, but no one wants to hear insults, especially when we’re all freaking out about this coronavirus.

Enjoy the clip below, and feel free to purchase “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” on Digital today because it’s the best “Star Wars” film to date, obviously. Way better than anything George Lucas could come up with. (Are my attempts to fire you up working?)
