'A Complete Unknown' Teaser: Timothée Chalamet Stars As Bob Dylan In James Mangold's Upcoming Biopic

There are few musicians that can rival the influence and popularity of Bob Dylan. He’s an absolute legend. That’s what makes the upcoming biopic, “A Complete Unknown,” so interesting.

As seen in the teaser, “A Complete Unknown” traces Bob Dylan’s surprising rise from a simple folk singer to one of the most popular artists in the world. The film focuses on Dylan when he was 19 years old and just starting out, and then the film culminates in his iconic performance during the Newport Folk Festival in 1965. 

The film stars Timothée Chalamet, Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, Boyd Holbrook, Norbert Leo Butz, Dan Fogler, and Scoot McNairy. “A Complete Unknown” is directed by James Mangold, who co-wrote the script alongside Jay Cocks

Interestingly, you can tell that Chalamet is actually performing all of the Dylan music himself. And believe it or not, he’s actually quite good. We’ll have to wait and see if his performance during the film is at all distracting to those who love Dylan’s work. 

“A Complete Unknown” arrives in theaters in December. You can watch the teaser below.

Set in the influential New York music scene of the early 60s, A COMPLETE UNKNOWN follows 19-year-old Minnesota musician BOB DYLAN’s (Timothée Chalamet) meteoric rise as a folk singer to concert halls and the top of the charts – his songs and mystique becoming a worldwide sensation – culminating in his groundbreaking electric rock and roll performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.
