We heart Amy Adams big time. She’ll always be tops for us because of her marvelous turn as the hyper-inquisitive Ashley Johnsten, in “Junebug” (one of our fave indie films from this decade). The Oscar-nominated actress is in negotiations to star in the romantic comedy, “Leap Year.” The premise is retarded, but we forgive her cause she’s such a fantastic actress (man, even in “Talladega Nights” you can see her working overtime, seriously) and such an endearing beauty.
She’ll play an “uptight woman who travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on leap day, Feb. 29, following an Irish tradition in which women propose to men on that day and the man has to say yes. When weather derails her trip, she enlists the help of a surly Irish innkeeper to make an unexpected cross-country trek to pull off the perfect proposal in time.” Hopefully it’s marginally better than the cheese-fest that was “PS I Love You.” You may make us want to hate you with your poor acting choices, but you’ll have to do a lot worse than this (well, maybe…).
