Got a Tip?

Bill Paxton, Not Pullman, Joins Tom Cruise In ‘All You Need Is Kill’

nullIt looks like Kevin Costner isn't the only one from this summer's miniseries hit "Hatfields & McCoys" who is going to get a nice career bump. His co-star Bill Paxton is now lining up his own big budget role, alongside none other than Tom Cruise.

Paxton has come board Doug Liman's currently shooting sci-fi tale "All You Need Is Kill," that is waking up the neighbors in London. An adaptation of the Hiroshi Sakurazaka's novel, the story follows a soldier in an alien war who finds himself living his last day in battle over and over again after being caught in a time loop, becoming a better soldier along the way. It's "Groundhog Day" meets "Source Code" or something we guess. Paxton joins Emily Blunt and Charlotte Riley in the flick, and he'll be playing Cruise's tough platoon commander. Paxton yelling at Cruise? Sign us up.

Oddly enough, there's no release date for this one yet, and we wonder if Warner Bros. is wary of dropping another sci-fi Cruise flick with Universal's "Oblivion" already slated for an April 19, 2013 release. Guess we'll see, but we won't be lacking in Cruise blockbusters for a while yet. [Variety]
