'Day Shift' First Look: Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco & Snoop Dogg Fight Off Vampires For Netflix

Vampire hunters are coming to Netflix. Even more impressive, the guys who taught “John Wick” how to kick ass, are now teaching Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco, and Snoop Dogg how to hunt bloodsuckers in “Day Shift,” a new action-horror thriller coming August 12 only on Netflix.

In “Day Shift,” Jamie Foxx stars as a regular blue-collar joe and dad. He just wants a simple life for himself and his daughter, but soon L.A. Vampires not only mess that up, but they also start messing with his wallet and his income, which is a no, no. Never touch a man’s bottom line.

Here’s the official synopsis:

On Netflix August 12, Jamie Foxx stars as a hard-working blue-collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income, hunting and killing vampires as part of an international Union of vampire hunters.

“Day Shift” is directed by J.J. Perry, a veteran stunt choreographer who, like the “John Wick” filmmakers Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, made the leap from stunt experts to bonafide action directors who have a very strong idea about how to make thrilling action movies.

Written by Tyler Tice and Shay Hatten, the film is produced by Shaun Redick, Yvette Yates Redick, Jason Spitz, and yep, you guessed it, current “John Wick” director Chad Stahelski. Executive producers include Jamie Foxx, Datari Turner, and Peter Baxter.

On top of starring Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco, and Snoop Dogg, “Day Shift” also features Karla Souza, Meagan Good, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Oliver Masucci, Steve Howey, Scott Adkins, and Zion Broadnax. Due on Netflix on August 12, the streamer released the first, first-look behind-the-scenes teaser of the film during Geeked Week today.
