‘Death To 2021’ Teaser: Netflix Brings Another All-Star Cast Together To Poke Fun At A Horrendous Year

Last year, Netflix thought it was being clever by lampooning the terrible year experienced by everyone around the world in the special, “Death to 2020.” Little did the studio know, 2021 wasn’t going to be much better. So, as you might expect, we are prepping for the release of a new comedy special, “Death to 2021.”

In the new teaser for the upcoming Netflix release, you are introduced to one of the disparate stories that will be told in “Death to 2021.” This story is focused on a single British woman, who is on the hunt for love during lockdown. She scans dating apps, only trying to match with people wearing masks (to be safe, of course). She even has a Zoom cuddle session, which is about as awkward as you imagine it might be. Much like the original “Death to 2020,” it appears the next entry in the comedic, pandemic-inspired franchise is going to follow a variety of stories inspired by what is really going on around us. You know, the shitty world and the shitty people who inhabit it. Hilarious.

The sequel/follow-up to last year’s “Death to 2020” stars Hugh Grant, Lucy Liu, Tracey Ullman, Samson Kayo, Joe Keery, William Jackson Harper, Stockard Channing, Cristin Milioti, Diane Morgan, Nick Mohammed, and others. The lead writer for the special is Ben Caudell, with Jack Clough and Josh Ruben handling the directing duties.

“Death to 2021” debuts on Netflix on December 27. You can watch the teaser below.

Here’s the synopsis:
