'Avengers' Co-Star Don Cheadle Comes To Brie Larson's Defense After The Actress Is Called A "Psycho Pretending To Be A Hero"

Before “Captain Marvel” was released, the trolls came out of the woodwork to try to take down actress Brie Larson, claiming that she’s anti-white male for voicing opinions on the state of the film industry, especially in the realm of film critics. That trolling didn’t end once the film was released, as shortly thereafter, Larson began her press tour promoting the new film “Avengers: Endgame.” And it appears that even after the monster success of both films, earning Larson a legion of new fans, some people are still not ready to accept the actress into the fold.

Recently, a YouTube channel run by Mandy O’Brien, who claims to be a body language expert and has been criticized (and briefly suspended from YouTube) in the past for her politically-motivated statements and claims of bullying, posted a video dissecting the body language of Larson and her ‘Avengers’ co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Don Cheadle. And as you might expect, the woman found no shortage of things to attack Larson over.

Before we go over the comments, it’s important to know that it’s okay not to like “Captain Marvel” as a film, or Brie Larson, as an actress. You can make valid arguments for both. In fact, many at The Playlist would put “Captain Marvel” firmly in the bottom half of Marvel films. The people we call “trolls” are those folks that go above and beyond to take down Larson, on a personal level, using sexist and bigoted language in the process. No matter your thoughts on someone, those sorts of comments are wrong on every level.

O’ Brien’s video begins with comments that Cheadle’s body language towards Larson hints at some tension, saying, “Like it’s an open secret they don’t like each other.” The “analyst” continues by saying that because it’s an “open secret” that the actors don’t like each other, you can see how they make jokes about not liking her, but those jokes are actually truths coming to light.

Apparently, there are also moments where Larson is trying to exert her dominance over her co-stars, by trying to raise her head and lift her posture. Some may see this as the actress trying to joke with Hemsworth, but others see it as more proof that Larson is just difficult.

“She is really trying to dominate them,” said O’ Brien, in response to this head movement. “In her mind, domination equals acceptance.”

The self-professed expert goes on to say that Larson is immature, socially inept, and unprofessional, among other things. She goes so far as to use the term “bitch” to describe the actress, as well as calling her a “psycho pretending to be a hero.”

Larson’s co-star Cheadle apparently caught wind of the video and posted his thoughts, using laughing emojis quite a bit, and tweeting, “this is some of the funniest stuff i’ve ever heard … brie was trying to keep her ponytail behind her because her hair stylist kept flying in and fixing it. she’s actually being OVER accommodating … amazing …”

In a later tweet, he shrugs off a person saying that it’s clear that Cheadle exhibits tension towards Larson by not letting her touch him. He quickly dismisses that criticism and says the movement was part of a “bit,” aka a joke that was seen in multiple interviews with Cheadle and his co-stars.

Will the Brie Larson drama ever end? We’ll have to wait and see. As of now, it seems as if the “Captain Marvel” actress is going to experience this for the foreseeable future.
