Worlds are colliding as we’re about to see two hot-as-a-pistol actors teaming up for “Enemies,” a new cat-and-mouse crime saga drama from filmmaker Henry Dunham, as it’ll star rising talent Jeremy Allen White (“The Iron Claw”) and Austin Butler (“Caught Stealing”).
The A24 project had been rumored for a while after it had been reported it was heading for a Chicago shoot, which has been confirmed for this summer by Deadline. Dunham also wrote the script for “Enemies,” but we’re going to have to wait for more plot information beyond “a relentless detective and an infamous contract killer collide in a deadly game of cat and mouse.”

White is set to return in the latest season of “The Bear” when the award-winning FX/Hulu series debuts next month on June 25. He also recently took a surprising role in Jon Favreau‘s “The Mandalorian & Grogu” movie, expected to be playing a gladiator version of Jabba the Hutt’s son, and might have had a first look reveal in a recent teaser trailer shown to the crowd at Star Wars Celebration Japan last month.
Butler will be seen next in Ari Aster‘s Cannes-bound “Eddington” (Aster is also a producer of “Enemies”) with the actor reportedly circling other high-profile roles such as Luca Guadagnino‘s “American Psycho” remake at Lionsgate (still unclear if Butler is truly starring or not), Michael Mann‘s highly-anticipated “Heat 2” potentially opposite Adam Driver for Warner Bros., and was attached to star in an adaptation of Don Winslow‘s mobster crime pic “City On Fire.”
“Enemies” is very much a film that sounds extremely exciting, and we can’t wait to learn more about it as more information and details come to us in the coming months alongside future casting additions.
